One of the most common questions people ask me is “What is the best thing to feed your dog?” I thought to dedicate a page of my site to my favorite meals for my dogs. Feeding your dog is one of the most important decisions you make. A good quality food for your dog is important for his or her health and well being. Many dogs have ailments that can be remedied with a good natural diet.
My favorite dog food recipes always include foods that I would eat: fresh meats, fresh veggies (all organic whenever possible), filtered water, home made treats. I do occasionally feed store bought foods, but they are rare, and when I do they are the best quality available.
I’ll address various dog food recipes here as well as some great premium quality dog foods on the market. Everything from store bought to home made…

Venison is a good protein for dogs. I like it because it is lower in fat than many other meats including lamb and beef. It is also a larger animal so ethically less animals die to feed your dog. I’ve found that dogs do very well on venison in particular larger breeds. I always add fresh veggies, supplements, fish oil and more… Beef Tripe, Muscle Meat & Veggies: Beef Tripe is a good source of nutrients for dogs. In the world the first thing a predator eats is the organs of the kill and the intestine is often the first choice. I don’t ever buy boiled tripe, you can tell the difference because real tripe is green. It is sold in cans and online through distributors. The best is frozen if fresh is not available. www.greentripe.com also sells a packaged product called Excalibur that contains tripe mixed with some muscle meat. This is the product you see here.
